I am very protective of myself in Facebook lately. I ignored friend requests from people that had came in my life before but were never friends in reality. Our path had crossed before but I am not ready to let them in this cyberspace of mine. I need a little bit of freedom. I hope that's not cruel.
The good thing about FB is..you can do that..ignore friend request or delete that friend if you ever find them annoying.,.how good if you can do that in life!
This blog is still opened to all..but I'm convinced (or assume) people who care to read it are nice people who are more forgiving and open. If there's any prejudice..at least it's not shown. May be it's better not to know too..he he
This weekend was full with schools' prize-giving ceremonies. Iqa and Najid got few awards (actually Iqa got academic ones and Najid got one for 'cleanliness' from his religious school)....so as a proud mom I was there..with my camera!
You can tell that she's not happy that her mom keeps taking pictures..
It's a challenge to get young kids to sit in the school hall; listening to grown-ups' speeches ..so I let Najid and Najla played outside the classrooms where award recepients were getting ready...
Few things appeared in my mind this weekend:
School year will end in just few days time here..the kids will be out of school for more than a month after that!
Wouldn't it be just perfect if we can all go vacation somewhere? (Forget that I need to work!)
The tiny Ipoh Airport had started to function and has flights to some nice locations....mmmm...there's flight + hotel packages available too...mmmm..
Or maybe we can drive to KL or Penang..spend a day or two in a hotel and visit some places of kids' interest...mmmm sound yummy too..; (plus some retail therapy!)
Still on MC, but had started seeing customers unofficially little by little..trying to get myself back on track. Sales life badly need my physical presence it seems..
No, my eyes are still not 100% back to normal..but I'm being very careful.
Since school holiday is just a week away, had decided to become the kids' taxi driver..just to get familiar behind the wheels and to give them the pleasure of having mom at their service!
So there goes my blogging and FB time...
Had visited some of your blogs during some stolen moments..but no comment left..hope to catch up a little bit soon in the weekend.
Off for some prize-giving ceremonies at kids' schools..and few more typical motherly activities...
Me and him in traditional clothes..with Najla's hand firmly planted on my lap..I wish it was his!
Sometimes..after being together for a long time, you feel the need to be 'pampered'..we call it "manja-manja" with your other half. And that's what I was trying to do the other day with my dear Mister.
Me: Dear, I'm so bored with all these shirts and blouses I have. I've been having them for such a long time. Don't you think it's time for me to get some new ones? (And I winked!)
Him: Mmmmm...I feel the same thing too. I've been having this same person in front of me for such a long time. Don't you think it's time for me to get a new one? (He winked back..with that irritating smirk he made!)
Me: Grrrrrr..!@#$%?%&??!!!
I guess I better buy what I want myself!
As for the Mister, you know what he got for daring to say those words!
When I first start blogging, my intention was more to find an outlet to express myself, to pour out my feelings and to document the on-goings around me...in short it's meant entirely for me..not so much for others outside my globe. But then, it's such a wonderful thing when you slowly find there are other like-minded souls who share your ups and downs..who care enough to lend their soothing words in needy time and clear your cloudy mind.
I can't thank you guys enough for the friendship. We don't need to be physically close to feel each other..that's really something magical for me.
This week, I found another blogging magic sprinkle in my mailbox:
There's Singaporean stamps on it! See that beautiful ant-eater stamp? My stamp album will be grinning so wide to accept it..
Zanas, a Singaporean mommy blogger who loves creating scrapbooks made this beautiful notebook for me!
She wrote a simple but powerful phrase there.."Thank you for the friendship"! (And she said the polka dot heart-shape book mark is for me to exercise my eyes)
She had made this video message for me too..
Thank you so much Zanas! The book is too precious..I don't know if I can write anything on it as it's so beautifully decorated..maybe I'll frame it for keepsake! He he..
PS: For all my blog friends, you don't need to send anything..I love our friendship just the way it is..
The last time I set my feet on our favourite park was on Mother's Day; it feels like ages ago to me. Last Sunday, after 4 months since the accident, I braved my heart to drive the new car slowly with my two youngest kids (the eldest went for school-organized camping). It really means a lot to me to be able to be there at the park this time.
Just to watch my feet on the green, green grass is therapeutic.
And for Najla too..she has not been here for so long. She ran so madly..it's like she suddenly got a new freedom to run around the huge, border-less field. I noticed she has stronger legs too now.
They need the see-saw to lift them up and bring them down..and scream as much as they want.
She needs to explore the heights, the unknown adventures. She was wary at first, but her steps get more and more confident.
And this sliding walls are their latest favourite; just climb as high as you can and slide yourself down..on your tummy or your butt!
He needs to feel how is it to be at the top.
And I need all the green that I can absorb for my eyes, my mind and my heart. I can get myself drowned into these greenness...lost in my memories of childhood joy at the park with my siblings..lost in the uncertainties I feel for what may come in my life..lost in feeling surreal..that if the fate had turned the other way 4 months ago; I might not be here at all listening to the giggles and the yell of my kids..
Life of a working mom. Her family. Playing with photography. The colours she love. Secret cyberspace. Welcome to her world.
